In roleplaying news, the plot thickens! Marla the healer has befriended the dragon, Nephtys, and is planning to help her escape the wrath of Galtix. Both armies must devise their battle strategies and gather their troops soon, because eventually someone will be ready to make the first move.

Nikki smiled in thanks. "You needn't be ashamed of your curiosity; I don't mind answering questions. Let me see if I can get all of those... Yes, I know the healer, I'm not 100% sure about the dragon yet, but I think she'll be useful, I've been to the castle on several occaisions and disloyalty of the dog will make things much easier." She paused for breath and decided to elaborate on the last answer. "The dog will surely prove useful no matter what he does, for he is ignorant carrion scum, and he won't know what he's doing when he does it. If he wants to help, we'll tell him how. If he doesn't, we'll play it sneaky; deception is a dangerous and usually fruitful game, though the fruit is not always sweet. It is, in fact, sometimes bitter and repulsive, but there are times when the fruit saves lives, like now." Nikki smiled and slung her bow over her shoulder. She didn't want to explain her motives regarding Marla just yet, nor her origins of sorcery. For now her new companion would have to live in blissful ignorance of the plan she had cooked up, and the secrets behind the pearl around her neck.

Ah, yes. I think they should add "2 to defend the spell-checkers"... I feel like I'm the only one in that group... *sigh* And "1 to correct the corrections"! XD

"Do you know this healer lady?" Sorrel asked, her mind buzzing "And what about that dragon? Maybe it will help too. Have you ever been to the castle? What will happen if the dog doesn't help?" She then shut her mouth, and blushed, knowing that letting her curiosity or ignorance show might not be a good idea. Looking forward she held the dog with one hand and buckled her sword with the other. "Here lemme take him" She said to Nikki taking Wakei and slinging him over her shoulder. Her knees buckled slightly under the weight but she quickly straightened up, she had carried deer this size before.

"Nikki," the girl replied. "Nice swordsplay." There was silence as the two lifted the dog off the ground. Then she spoke again. "I do have a plan, so you know. Whether his lack of consciousness will help or hurt, I don't know... It depends on whether he remains loyal to Galtix after getting beaten on like that. If he still wishes to serve, what we have to do is make ourselves look hurt. He'll take us to either Galtix or Marla, either way we'll end up at the healer's eventually. And when we do, I have the feeling that she'll be willing to help us out."

Sorrel walked over to the other girl and helped her pick the dog up "I'm guessing you have a plan so I'll help you. Nice archer over there by the way. My name is Sorrel, what's yours?".

Nephtys flinched as the tendrils bound themselves around her hind foot. She roared defiantly and walked a far as the tendrils would allow, folding her wings and curling up. Her white scales, unmarred by dust, still glimmered, and she prepared herself to sleep. But after causing a wound and nearly reaching bloodlust, the dragon could hardly sleep. Her body twitched, claws scraping the stone loudly, fangs snapping at air. Her scales bristled and her tail thudded against the dungeon wall several times, making a very large racket.

The guard scrambled from the cell, closing the gate quickly. The sleeve of his right arm was shredded, revealing an ugly gash. The floor of the cell wasn't exactly a bed of roses, and when he fell, something sharp stabbed into his arm. The guard collapsed, gasping for air. His arm hurt so badly he though he would be sick. He found himself in a ball at Galtix's feet. Galtix's eyes smouldered in rage. "Away with you!" he yelled, and sent a blast of dark energy at the guard, sending him flying across the floor and into the far wall. "As for you," he said, turning to Nephtys, "I suppose I'll have to get those chains on myself." Tendrils of darkness sprung from his hands, twisting around the dragon's hind foot and attaching to the ground. The magic was even stronger than any metal. "Sweet dreams," he whispered, bidding the beast goodnight.
